TPT
- FIXED CELLULAR TERMINAL FOR LEAST COST ROUTING
TPT Ltd
is a leading UK ISO 9001 approved manufacturer of passive
and active power distribution, cable management and interconnectivity
products for the telecoms, IT and industrial marketplace.
The TPT2000
GSM multi-line router product enables significant cost cuts
on calls made from landlines to mobile phones. Such calls
can now account for 50% of the calls on your phone bill if
your company employs field-based personnel with mobile phones,
or if staff make a high number of calls to mobile phones.
TPT2000:
GSM LEAST COST ROUTER
When connected to your phone system, the TPT2000 Fixed Cellular
Terminal (FCT) automatically routes mobile calls directly
to your preferred mobile operator. This avoids expensive cross
network charges associated with landline to mobile calls and
can enable cost savings of up to 50%.
Modular
in design, the TPT2000 FCT can be configured for two, four,
six or eight ports, providing simultaneous line routing. It
also has a call home facility and remote management and control
facility, which provides the following:
- Minimal
call slippage due to a power failure
- Remote
configurable updates
- Programmable,
to manage minutes allocation and usage on SIM cards
- Call
management reports

MONTHLY CONTRACT MINUTES MONITORING AND CONTROL
The TPT2000
FCT is able to monitor mobile call usage for particular SIMs
against pre-programmed minutes thresholds. Should the total
minutes used approach the pre-programmed limit, the TPT2000
can be programmed to deny the usage of the particular SIM
for further calls. This prevents mobile calls slipping outside
the SIM contract allowance which would otherwise result in
inflated mobile call charges.
To enable
this feature, the TPT2000 has to be programmed to identify
the SIM or SIMs that are to be monitored. Against each SIM,
the total minutes is then specified and optionally a time
and monthly date when the SIM can be re-enabled and the total
minutes used for the new period reset.
It is
also possible to specify how the TPT2000 handles attempted
calls through a disabled SIM. If the TPT2000 is deployed as
a router with an analogue trunk connection then it can be
instructed to route the calls over the PSTN instead. If the
TPT2000 is being used in gateway configuration (without any
PSTN trunks) then if it is unable to place the call on an
alternative SIM it will return a warning tone to the user
when a mobile call is attempted.
The TPT2000
can also be programmed to call a central management facility
to report both the level of SIM usage and, exceptionally,
that a SIM has been isolated as a result of the current minutes
allowance being reached.
The combination
of these TPT2000 SIM management features provides the telecommunications
and facilities manager with powerful tools for the timely
and accurate reporting of mobile call usage and enables correct
budgeting and accurate planning.
