The pilot company of the TOPEX Group, TOP 9+ ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS, is a fully private-owned commercial company. TOP 9+ was founded in May 1990 by a group of ten diplomate engineers with proficiency in telecommunications and information technology. The domain of activity of our company is the research, development, manufacturing, selling, and services in the fields of communications and computer technology.

The companies belonging to the TOPEX group are:
- TOP 9+ ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS - founded in May 1990
- TOPEX PUBLIC SWITCHING S.A. - founded in 1994
- I.M. TOPEX (of Chisinau, Republic of Moldova) - joint venture set-up in 1996

The TOPEX group is active in the following areas:
- research and development of telecommunications equipment
- manufacturing and installation of private automatic branch telephone exchanges (PABX)
- manufacturing and installation of public telephone exchanges, analogic and digital
- production and installation of multiplexer systems and digital transmission systems for telecommunications
- service and maintenance for all of its products
- developmente of CT ( "computer telephony") products, customized
- design and implementation of special telecommunication systems, upon request of the customer

The main headquarters with the commercial offices are located in the northen area of Bucharest, no. 10 Feleacului street. Here our group owns a piece of land of 700 m2, upon which a five floor edifice was build, with an area of 600 m2.

The manufacturing center is located in the township of Voluntari, near Bucharest, no. 13-15 Becheanului street. The building area is over 1,200 m2 and it is structured as two production halls and an administrative building three storeys high.

The TOPEX Group covers more than 25% of the Romanian market for private branch telephone exchanges. Since 1994, TOPEX has become the largest Romanian producer of PABX equipment.
